Not long ago, many American commedians, and even those from around the world made regular jokes about communism in the Soviet Union.
Jokes like “In Soviet Russia, you don’t watch TV, TV watches YOU!” and “In America, there’s plenty of light beer and you can always find a party. In Russia, Party always finds you.
Even in the Soviet Union, jokes were rampant about the facade put up by the government. Even though the government wore a veneer of order, most common people realized that the entire communist system was a scam. One popular joke (That could have carried actual jail time) went like this.
In a prison, two inmates are comparing notes. “What did they arrest you for?” asks the first. “Was it a political or common crime?” “Of course it was political. I’m a plumber. They summoned me to the district Party committee to fix the sewage pipes. I looked and said, ‘Hey, the entire system needs to be replaced.’ So they gave me seven years.”
Sadly, the jokes poking fun at the Soviet Union are now slowly becoming applicable in the United States.
Not long ago, it would have been UNTHINKABLE that a war would be waged on free speech, where a person’s entire livelyhood would be wiped out by what they had said years ago. However that is the reality this very day in America, where a CEO was fired as head of a multi-million dollar company due to a political position he had taken 6 years ago.
Now, this was a big, high profile case that most have already forgotten about, since it’s now over a year old and in the back of everyone’s mind.
Today, this rabid, assault on free speech has gained a new, totally unpresidented level. Not only are people being punished by their free speech, being threatened in their positions. Now, the left is actually altering, editing , and removing free speech on the internet.
Case and point : The European Migrant Crisis.
As it stands now, a great deal of many arguments are either being edited, removed or in some other way adulterated to combat private opinions on rape, murder and other assaults committed by migrants in Europe.
These are just two of several dozen discussions that I’ve personally read in the past week.
Even more stunning was the admission that it even goes beyond free speech, all the way up to police coverups of rapes and attacks. Once again, these specific news articles are being edited or removed from many websites talking about them.
